How B2B buyers search now

A purchase manager or founder looking for a supplier does not search for your company name. They search for what they need, with the details that matter to them: a product and grade, a service and industry, a place you deliver to. Then they open a few results, compare, and ask colleagues.

More of them now also ask ChatGPT or Google's AI Overview for a list of suppliers. Those answers draw on pages that already rank, so the same page has to do two jobs: rank for the search, and say plainly who you are, what you make or do, and where.

Pages that turn a search into an enquiry

  • One page per product or service. When two pages chase the same search, Google often shows neither. A.R.T's old senna pages had exactly that problem.
  • The buyer's checklist, on the page. Specifications, minimum orders, industries served, delivery areas and certifications: the questions a buyer would otherwise write in to ask.
  • Proof a buyer can check. Named clients where you have permission, real project examples, and photos of your own facility and team.
  • One step to enquire. WhatsApp, phone and a short form on every page, so the buyer asks you and not the next supplier.

How we count leads

A lead is any time a buyer reaches out: a form, a call, a WhatsApp message or an email. We track each one as it happens and show it on your dashboard next to the searches and pages that brought visitors, from your own Google Analytics. You see which pages earn enquiries and which only earn visits.

Then, on our weekly call, we decide together which pages to build or improve next, based on what brought real enquiries rather than traffic alone.

What happened for an exporter

  1. Before July 2026Six brochure pages on WordPress, with one product page.
  2. 3 July 2026The rebuilt export site goes live.
  3. 18 JulyFirst real enquiry, an email from a buyer in the United States.
  4. 28 days to 3 OctoberAverage Google rank 11.0, against 22.1 the 28 days before, and on page one for 197 searches.

SEO or a lead generation agency?

Many lead generation companies in Mumbai run cold email, LinkedIn outreach and calling. That can fill a calendar quickly, but it stops when the spending stops, and the buyer did not ask to hear from you. Search works the other way round: the buyer is already looking, and you appear.

The two can work side by side. We only do the search side, SEO and GEO, so if you also need outbound, keep a specialist for it.

Questions people ask

How long before B2B SEO brings enquiries?

For A.R.T, the first overseas enquiry came fifteen days after launch. Many B2B sites take longer, because businesses search less often than consumers do. Our goal for every client: page one on Google and a place in Google's AI Overview for your main searches, within three months.

Our keyword tool says nobody searches for our product. Should we still do SEO?

Often yes. Keyword tools are built for advertisers and report zero for many trade searches. A.R.T's tool said nobody searched for "senna leaves manufacturer". Search Console showed buyers did.

Do you do LinkedIn or cold email lead generation?

No. We only do SEO and GEO. Outbound can work well alongside search, and we are happy to work with whoever runs it for you.

How do we know which leads came from search?

Your dashboard shows each enquiry alongside the searches and pages that brought visitors, from your own Google Analytics and Search Console, and we go through it with you every week.
