SEO for professional services firms: be the name AI tools give

People choose an accountant, a lawyer or a consultant on trust, and more of them now start by asking an AI tool who to trust. Here is how a firm becomes one of the names.

How clients choose a firm now

A business owner with a GST notice, a family buying a flat, or a startup raising money does not search for "CA firm". They search for the problem, read a few answers, and ask people they trust. Many now also ask ChatGPT or Google's AI Overview something like "best CA firm in Andheri for startups".

The AI answer names a few firms and gives each a sentence. That sentence comes from pages that rank, and that say plainly who the firm helps, with what, and where.

What a firm's website needs

  • A page per service and per problem. "GST registration for a new company" and "reply to a GST notice" are different searches from different clients.
  • Real people and real qualifications. Who will handle the work, with their training and experience. Google's guidance asks that a page make plain who is behind it, and clients ask the same.
  • Examples you are allowed to share. Anonymised if needed: the problem, what you did, the outcome and the date.
  • Plain answers to common questions. In the words clients use, not the words of the law.
  • The same facts everywhere. Your services, areas and contact details should match on your site, your Google Business Profile and every directory.

Your profession's rules come first

Lawyers and chartered accountants in India work under their councils' rules on advertising. Websites are generally allowed within those rules, so we keep pages factual: who you are, what you do, and how to reach you. You approve every page before it goes live, and we change anything your institute or council would object to.

Getting named in AI answers

Google's May 2026 guide is clear that there is no separate trick for AI answers. The pages that rank well, and that offer something useful not already on every other site, are the ones its AI features draw on. For a firm, that useful thing is experience: what clients usually get wrong, how long a process really takes, and what to prepare.

We check the AI answers for your main client questions by hand every week, and Search Console's report on Google's AI features shows how often your pages appear in them. Why we treat this as one job is in SEO vs GEO.

Questions people ask

Can a CA firm or a law firm do SEO in India?

Yes, within the rules of its council. Websites that state facts about the firm and its services are generally allowed. We keep pages factual, and you approve every one.

Should we publish articles?

Only where they answer a real client question with your own experience. Google's guidance values original, useful content over volume, and so do clients.

How do we know if AI tools name our firm?

We ask the AI tools your clients' questions every week and record what they say. Google Search Console also reports how often your pages appear in Google's AI features.

Do you work with firms outside Mumbai?

Yes. We work from Mumbai with firms across India, over a weekly call, WhatsApp and email.
