What decides the map results
Google says local results depend mainly on three things: how relevant your listing is to the search, how far you are from the person searching, and how well known your business is. You cannot move your shop, but you can work on the other two.
- Relevance. The right main category, every service listed on your profile, and a page on your website for each service.
- Prominence. Genuine reviews, mentions on other sites, and a website that ranks well in ordinary search.
- Accuracy. The same name, address, phone number and hours on your profile, your website and every listing.

Reviews: how to ask, and what never to do
The best time to ask for a review is the moment the job is done, in the same chat where you dealt with the customer. We set up a short link and a message you can send in one tap, so asking becomes a habit rather than a campaign.
Never buy reviews, write your own, or offer a discount for a good one. Google's rules forbid it, its review guidelines were tightened again in July 2026 to name fake and undisclosed paid reviews, and a profile can be suspended for it.

Where AI answers fit
When someone asks Google a local question, the AI Overview often appears above the map. In our checks on a client's searches in August 2026, when Google showed a map, its AI answer named businesses from that map. So the map work and the AI work are mostly the same work.
The extra step is consistency. Medha's site once described her readings as both live and recorded, and the AI Overview concluded she did not read live. We wrote one sentence that says exactly how a reading works and used it everywhere. This is how the AI Overview described her on 6 October 2026:
AI Overview
Medha (AstroTarot): A widely reviewed online reader providing WhatsApp-based voice-note or written readings with transparent flat pricing starting from ₹999, plus optional live video or phone sessions.
A page for every service you offer
- One page per service. A dental clinic's page for root canal treatment and its page for braces answer different searches from different people.
- What a customer needs to decide. Who it is for, what happens, how long it takes, and how to book, in plain words.
- The areas you cover, honestly. We list the areas you serve. We never add addresses where you have no office, because Google's guidelines forbid it.
Questions people ask
Do I need a website if I have a Google Business Profile?
It helps a great deal. Your profile gets you into the map; your website gives Google and AI tools the detail to understand each service and to trust you. Medha's AI Overview description came from her website.
How long before my business shows in the map?
It depends on how crowded your category is and how close customers are when they search. Less crowded categories can move within weeks. On our weekly call we check where you appear for your main searches.
Can you add my business in areas where I have no office?
No. Google's guidelines forbid listing addresses where you do not serve customers in person, and a profile can be suspended for it. A business that travels to customers can list the areas it covers, which we set up correctly.
How many reviews do I need?
There is no fixed number. A steady flow of recent, genuine reviews that mention the service matters more than a large total from years ago.
