Why the top 10 lists are not enough

Search for the best SEO agency in Mumbai and you will find lists, and AI answers built from those lists. Many are published by agencies that rank themselves first. They can still be useful for names, but they are not evidence.

Evidence is something you can check: a client's live numbers, a dated result, a plan you can hold the agency to. The twelve questions below are designed to get it.

Questions about results

  • 1. Can I see a client's live Google Search Console? Google's own advice is to judge search work in Search Console. Any agency proud of its work can show it, with the client's permission.
  • 2. What changed for that client, and when? A result with no date could be five years old.
  • 3. Which of your clients is most like my business? Results in a similar market tell you more than results in an easy one.
  • 4. How do you report results, and how often? Ask whether the numbers come from Google's own tools or from the agency's.

Questions about the work

  • 5. What will you do in my first month, week by week? "Results take six months" is not a plan.
  • 6. Which searches will you target first, and why? The answer should name real searches and explain why you can win them.
  • 7. How do you handle AI answers like Google's AI Overview and ChatGPT? Google's May 2026 guide says the work that ranks a page also gets it into AI features. Be wary of a separate, secret AI method.
  • 8. Will you build many near-identical pages? Pages that only swap a city or a keyword can break Google's spam rules.

Questions about working together

  • 9. Who will I talk to every week? The person you meet before signing is not always the person doing your work.
  • 10. What else does the agency sell? A full-service agency suits some businesses. If search is what you need, ask how much of the team's time goes to it.
  • 11. Who owns the website, content and accounts? You should. Your Search Console, Analytics and Business Profile should stay in your name.
  • 12. What do we keep if we stop working together? Everything that was built for you should stay yours.

Red flags

  • Guaranteed rankings. Google says no one can guarantee a ranking in its results.
  • No access to your own data. If the agency holds your accounts, you cannot check its work.
  • A score instead of numbers. Google says no outside tool can see its ranking or AI systems.
  • Bought reviews or links. Both break Google's rules and can cost you more than they bring.

How we answer these questions

We built this site so you can check us against this list: live client numbers with dates on our client results pages, our first month set out week by week, and our three-month goal in writing. Every client gets a weekly call with the people doing the work, a message from us the day something important changes, and a live dashboard in between.

Questions people ask

Which is the best SEO company in Mumbai?

There is no single answer, because the best agency for a clinic is not the best for an exporter. Shortlist three, ask each the twelve questions above, and choose the one whose results you can check for yourself.

How much does an SEO agency in Mumbai cost?

Prices vary widely between agencies. We do not publish a price list, because it depends on your site and how many searches you need to win. Send us your website and we will tell you what we would change first and what it would cost.

Should I hire a freelancer or an agency?

A good freelancer can be excellent for a small site. An agency helps when you need more hands, cover for holidays, and a team that can write, fix and report at the same time. Either way, ask the same questions.

Does my SEO agency need to be in Mumbai?

Search work happens online, so the agency does not need to be next door. Being in the same city helps with map results, and with meeting in person when it is useful.
